Fino 49

Description

Spanish variety probably to have emerged from a Common lemon seed from the Vega de Murcia.

The tree is very vigorous and very large in size. It tends to produce shoots with thorns. Little re-flowering with flowers more grouped than the Verna variety and therefore generally initiating later. Medium pollen viability. Self-compatible variety.

The fruit is commercialised under the name of Primafiori. It is of medium size and spherical-oval in shape. Without a shoot in the base and a short and sharp nipple. More seeds and finer skin than the Verna variety.

Harvest in the first and second season (October-February). High quality for fresh consumption and for use in industry.

Two clones of the variety (Fino 49 and Fino 95) are currently being multiplied in nurseries.
