Description

Mutation of the Hudson grapefruit obtained in Texas by means of irradiating seeds. The tree is of medium vigour and without thorns. Fruit is yellow on the outside. Good size. Soft skin and almost red pulp. Few or no seeds.

It is a variety of very good quality. Harvest in the first and second season. Requirements of heat for the pulp to colour are fewer than for the Redblush variety.

Pollen viability is low. Self-compatible variety.

Agronomic remarks

Very vulnerable to residual herbicides and some insecticides. Least demanding of all grapefruits in terms of the warmth required to produce its reddish pigmentation. Slight tendency towards alternate harvests.
